2019 Capital Financial Planning Foundation Charitable Golf Tournament Beneficiary
Each year, Capital Financial Planning Charitable Foundation hosts a golf tournament and dinner party fundraiser. We select a primary beneficiary to receive a generous donation at this flagship fundraising event. We also make bequests to a wide range of not for profit organizations throughout the year. This year, we are excited to announce the 2019 primary golf tournament beneficiary will be:
Capital Region CANstruction in benefit of The Food Pantries of the Capital District!
Capital Region CANstruction® is an annual exhibit and design competition that connects talented architects, engineers, contractors, and students in the capital of New York State to imagine and create colossal structures completely out of canned food items. The structures are on display on the fourth floor of the New York State Museum for two weeks, raising awareness of food insecurity in our region while highlighting local design talent. At the close of the exhibit, every can is donated to the Food Pantries for the Capital District to help feed families in the Capital Region. https://capitalregioncanstruction.com.
The Food Pantries for the Capital District is a coalition of over 60 food pantries located in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady Counties, providing food for more than 2.7 million meals annually. Established in 1979, programs include food funding, holiday meals funding, food delivery service, food rescue, food/fund/diaper/hygiene drives, infant needs, member education/networking, and service referral. www.thefoodpantries.org.
The following organizations benefited from the CFP Charitable Foundation in 2018: American Brain Tumor Association, Amazing Gracie's Gift Foundation, Wildwood Foundation Inc., Capital Roots, Operation At Ease, CDPHP Foundation Inc., Manhattan College, Guilderland Lettermen, American Cancer Society, Albany Sports Group, Food Pantries for the Capital Distrinct Inc., Retreat Inc., Regional Food Bank of NENY, and our primary golf tournament beneficiary: Community Caregivers.
